Biography
ZACH ORR re-joins the Ravens as their inside linebackers coach after spending one season (2021) as the Jacksonville Jaguars' outside linebackers coach. Prior to his stint with Jacksonville, Orr spent four seasons (2017-20) serving in various roles on Baltimore's coaching staff. He most recently worked as a coaching analyst (2019-20), after initially joining the team as a player personnel and coaching administrative assistant (2017-18) following his Ravens playing career. Orr transitioned to coaching after retiring as a player following the 2016 campaign due to a congenital neck/spine condition.
- Under Orr's tutelage, Jaguars OLB Josh Allen became the NFL's only player in 2021 to register a FR, INT and sack in the same game, earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors (Week 9 vs. Bills).
- In 2020, the Ravens allowed the NFL's second-fewest points per game (18.9) and produced the No. 2 third-down defense (34.0%), also registering a league-high 25 FFs.
- The 2019 Ravens allowed the NFL's third-fewest points (17.6) and fourth-fewest net yards (300.6) per game…The Ravens notched the league's fifth-ranked run "D" (93.4 ypg) and were sixth against the pass (207.2 ypg).
- The Ravens were the NFL's No. 1-ranked defense in 2018, allowing an NFL-low 292.9 yards per game…Baltimore also permitted the league's second-fewest points per game (17.9).

2021: (with Jacksonville) 2021: The Jaguars finished in the AFC's Top 10 in total defense (353.1 ypg) and pass defense (227.9 ypg), while also producing the fourth-most QB hits (81) in franchise history…OLB Josh Allen registered 71 tackles, a team-high 7.5 sacks and career-high 12 TFL.
2017-20: (with Baltimore) 2020: Baltimore was among the NFL's Top 10 defensive units, ranking seventh in total defense (329.8 ypg)…OLB Matthew Judon earned Pro Bowl honors for the second-consecutive season. 2019: Ravens produced a franchise-best 14-2 record, winning a second-straight AFC North title...Judon led the team with a then-career-high 9.5 sacks, earning his first trip to the Pro Bowl. 2018: Ravens were the NFL's No. 1 defensive unit (292.9 ypg) and among the best in several other key defensive categories: third in third-down defense (34.1), fourth in rushing yards allowed (82.9 ypg) and fifth in passing yards permitted (210.0 ypg). 2017: Helped coach a defensive unit that featured OLB Terrell Suggs, who earned his seventh Pro Bowl nod and led the team with 11 sacks.
NFL PLAYER: (2014-16 with Baltimore) Originally signed with the Ravens in 2014 as an undrafted rookie free agent from North Texas…Orr played in 46 career games (2014-16), posting 163 tackles, 1 sack, 8 TFL, 6 PD, 3 INTs, 1 FF and 2 FRs…In 2016, appeared in 15 games (all starts), tallying career highs in tackles (133), TFL (6), PD (5), INTs (3), FRs (2) and FFs (1), en route to earning AP second-team All-Pro honors…During his playing career, Orr performed under the guidance of Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, who served as a coaching intern during Orr's rookie season (2014) and then as a defensive assistant from 2015-16.
COLLEGE: Graduated from the University of North Texas and played in 46 career games, posting 365 tackles (then-third most in school history), 5 sacks, 25 TFL, 3 INTs, 4 FFs and 9 FRs during his four-year career (2010-13)…Received first- (2013) and second-team (2012) All-Conference USA accolades…Graduated with a degree in kinesiology in 2013.
PERSONAL: Attended DeSoto (TX) HS, where he recorded over 100 tackles in eight games during an injury-limited senior season…Posted 157 tackles, 24 TFL, 11 sacks, 1 INT and 3 FRs as a junior in 2008…His father, Terry Orr, was a tight end for the now-Washington Commanders from 1986-93, while his younger brother, Chris, is a former NFL linebacker who currently plays for the New Jersey Generals of the USFL…His older brother, Terrance, is the offensive coordinator at North Crowley (Fort Worth, TX) HS, and his younger brother, Nick, played college football at TCU from 2014-17.
