MIKE DEVLIN, a 20-year NFL coaching veteran, enters his first season as Baltimore's assistant offensive line coach. He most recently spent six seasons (2015-20) coaching the Houston Texans' offensive line, and prior to that, spent nine seasons (2006-14) as an assistant with the New York Jets, working with the offensive line and tight ends. Devlin entered the NFL coaching ranks with the Arizona Cardinals, where he assisted with the offensive line (2001-03) after spending one season (2000) as the team's offensive quality control coach. A former offensive lineman, Devlin played in the NFL for seven years with the Buffalo Bills (1993-95) and Arizona Cardinals (1996-99).

2015-20: (with Houston) 2020: Houston's line blocked for an offense that produced a league-high and team-record 6.39 yards per play…T Laremy Tunsil earned his second-consecutive Pro Bowl nod, helping protect QB Deshaun Watson, who produced the league's most passing yards (4,823) and second-best passer rating (112.4), en route to his third-career Pro Bowl. 2019: Tutored an offensive line that featured three new starters, including Tunsil, who made his first-career Pro Bowl, and rookies T Tytus Howard and G/T Max Scharping…The Texans' rushing attack averaged 4.63 yards per carry, producing the second-highest mark in franchise history. 2018: Guided a group that helped Houston's run game average 126.3 yards per game, ranking fourth in the AFC and eighth in the NFL…Houston's line provided its quarterback 3.01 seconds of time on dropback passes, finishing with the league's third-highest mark and helping Watson earn his first-career Pro Bowl nod. 2017: Despite starting seven different offensive line combinations, the Texans scored 30-plus points six times, tying the franchise single-season record for the most games reaching that mark…T Duane Brown earned his fourth-career Pro Bowl nod and first under Devlin's tutelage. 2016: Devlin's group protected for an offense that finished with the NFL's third-highest time of possession (31:20), while permitting the AFC's sixth-fewest sacks (32) and paving the way for the conference's fifth-most-productive rushing attack (116.2 ypg). 2015: Houston started nine different offensive line combinations, helping protect four different starting quarterbacks…QB Brian Hoyer posted career highs in passing touchdowns (19), passer rating (91.4) and completion percentage (60.7).

2006-14: (with NY Jets) 2014: Guided an offensive line that helped the Jets become the AFC's best rushing offense (142.5 ypg)…For his key contributions along the line, C Nick Mangold was selected to his sixth-overall and second-consecutive Pro Bowl. 2013: Helped guide an offensive line that blocked for the league's sixth-best rushing attack (134.9 ypg)…Mangold earned his fifth-career Pro Bowl nod. 2012: Helped TE Jeff Cumberland bounce back from a season-ending Achilles injury the previous year to achieve then-career highs in receptions (29), receiving yards (359) and TD catches (3)…For his perseverance and dedication, Cumberland earned the Ed Block Courage Award. 2011: Coached TE Dustin Keller, who led the team with a career-high 65 catches and 815 receiving yards, while adding 5 TDs…Among AFC tight ends, Keller finished in the Top 5 in receptions (65 – third) and receiving yards (815 – third)…Keller was also named the Jets' Walter Payton Man of the Year. 2010: Mentored a tight ends room that featured standout Keller, who became the first Jets tight end to lead the club in receptions (55) since Mickey Schuler (76) in 1985…Keller added 687 receiving yards and 5 TD catches. 2009: Guided Keller to an impressive streak of three straight postseason games with a TD reception, becoming just the second tight end since the 1970 merger to achieve that feat. (Five tight ends have now scored a TD in three consecutive games within a single playoff run.) 2008: Mentored rookie Keller, who finished with the second-most receptions (48) and receiving yards (535) among first-year tight ends, while posting the third-most TD grabs (3) among the group. 2007: Served as the Jets' offensive line coach…Mentored a group that helped RB Thomas Jones notch 1,119 rushing yards (NFL's 10th most) on 310 carries. 2006: Joined the Jets as a tight ends/assistant offensive line coach…The Jets finished with the NFL's fourth-ranked third-down offense, converting at a 43.8% clip.

2004-05: (with Toledo) Helped T Nick Kaczur develop into a third-round draft pick of the Patriots in 2005...His unit helped block for former NFL QB Bruce Gradkowski. 2005: Toledo was the 15th-ranked offense in the country (447.1), while pacing the Mid-American Conference for the second-straight season. 2004: Toledo's offensive line helped block for the nation's 11th-best offense (459.2 ypg), which also finished as the Mid-American Conference's most productive unit, en route to winning the conference championship…Kaczur was named a Lombardi Award candidate for the nation's best lineman, linebacker or tight end, and an Outland Trophy candidate for the nation's best interior lineman.

2000-03: (with Arizona) Entered the NFL coaching ranks with the Arizona Cardinals, where he assisted with the offensive line (2001-03) after spending one season (2000) as the team's offensive quality control coach…Arizona posted the NFL's sixth-ranked third-down rushing percentage (52.4%) during Devlin's four-year stint assisting the Cardinals' offense

NFL PLAYER (1993-99): An offensive lineman selected in the fifth round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, Devlin played in 101 regular season games (27 starts) over seven years…Spent three seasons (1993-95) with the Bills and four seasons (1996-99) with the Cardinals, appearing in Super Bowl XXVIII as a rookie with Buffalo.

COLLEGE: Earned All-America honors at the University of Iowa and was a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy as the nation's top interior lineman in 1992…That year, he was also named Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year, in addition to being tabbed Big Ten MVP by the Chicago Tribune…Earned first-team All-America honors in 1991…Started at center for a 1990 Hawkeyes team that finished 8-4 and earned a trip to the Rose Bowl.

PERSONAL: Devlin's father, John, was a linebackers coach for the Houston Oilers in the 1980s...Mike played football for Cherokee (Marlton, NJ) HS…He and his wife, Julie, created several charitable endeavors, including The Devlin Football Camp, The John S. Devlin Golf Tournament and Devlin's Helping Hands, which benefit a number of organizations…The couple has four children: sons Zachary and Matthew, and daughters Hallie and Carlie.
