GEORGE GODSEY (pronounced GOOD-see), who is in his 12th NFL season, joined the Ravens after most recently serving as the Miami Dolphins' tight ends coach (2019-21), while adding the co-offensive coordinator title in 2021. Godsey also served as the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator from 2015-16. During his time in the NFL, he has held assistant positions with the Detroit Lions (2017-18), Houston Texans (2014) and New England Patriots (2011-13). Prior to joining the NFL ranks, Godsey began his coaching career at the collegiate level with the University of Central Florida (2004-10).

2017-18: (with Detroit) Godsey was a defensive assistant responsible for special projects in 2017 and was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2018. 2018: Worked with QB Matthew Stafford, who completed 66.1% (367-of-555) of his passes for 3,777 yards and 21 TDs despite two of his top receivers – Marvin Jones Jr. and Golden Tate – combining to play in just 16 games for Detroit. 2017: Served as a defensive assistant responsible for special projects, helping the Lions finish third in the NFL in total takeaways (32), fourth in INTs (19) and second in FRs (13).

2014-16: (with Houston) Served as quarterbacks coach in 2014 before earning a promotion to offensive coordinator in 2015…Houston posted three consecutive winning seasons during his tenure and won the AFC South in both seasons (2015-16) he was the offensive coordinator. 2016: Houston won the AFC South and an AFC Wild Card game against Oakland in QB Brock Osweiler's first full season as an NFL starter…Houston finished with the league's eighth-best rushing attack (116.2 ypg). 2015: The Texans became the first NFL team since 1950 to make the playoffs with four different starting QBs winning at least one regular season game…WR DeAndre Hopkins finished third in the NFL with 1,521 receiving yards, while his 11 receiving TDs tied for seventh. 2014: Led a unit that featured QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, who started 12 games and posted then-single-season career highs in passer rating (95.3) and completion percentage (63.1).

2011-13: (with New England) Coached tight ends from 2012-13, after spending 2011 as an offensive assistant. 2013: Despite playing just seven games in 2013 due to injury, TE Rob Gronkowski caught 39 passes for 592 yards (15.2 avg) and 4 TDs…His 15.2 yards per catch average was third among NFL tight ends that season. 2012: Under Godsey's tutelage, Gronkowski posted 55 receptions for 790 yards and 11 TDs…His 11 TD grabs were the most among tight ends. 2011: Joined the NFL ranks as an offensive assistant, helping New England win the AFC and advance to Super Bowl XLVI…The Pats' offense ranked among the league's best in several categories, including yards per game (428.0 – second), points per game (32.1 – third) and red zone TD efficiency (65.3% – second).

2004-10: (with Central Florida) Served in a variety of roles with the Knights…Began his coaching career as a graduate assistant (2004) before being promoted to quarterbacks coach (2005-08) and then moving to running backs coach in 2009…Central Florida played in three bowl games and won two conference titles in Godsey's tenure.

COLLEGE: Was a standout QB at Georgia Tech from 1998-2001, finishing as the school's all-time record holder in completion percentage (63.3) and passer rating (143.6).

PERSONAL: Played one season in the Arena Football League for the Tampa Bay Storm, which won ArenaBowl XVII…A Tampa, FL, native, Godsey comes from a strong football family…His older brother, Greg, played at Air Force, and his younger brother, Gary, played at Notre Dame.
