ANTHONY WEAVER, who is in his 14th overall season of coaching, reunited with the Ravens in 2021, the team that drafted him in 2002. In 2022, after one season as the Ravens' run game coordinator/defensive line coach, Weaver was promoted to assistant head coach/defensive line. He held his first NFL coaching position with the New York Jets in 2012, before joining the Bills' staff in 2013, serving on the Browns' staff for two seasons (2014-15) and joining the Houston Texans in 2016 as defensive line coach, where in 2020, he added defensive coordinator responsibilities.

• Under Weaver's tutelage (2021-22), Baltimore's defensive front has contributed to the NFL's second-best run defense (88.3 ypg), No. 2-ranked third-down defense (34.9%) and fourth-overall red zone defense (50.0%).
• Has guided the development of Ravens' young DLs Travis Jones, Justin Madubuike and Broderick Washington.
• Helped lead Baltimore's 2023 offensive coordinator search, which yielded Todd Monken for the position.
• Weaver has coached multiple Pro Bowlers, including J.J. Watt (2018) and Jadeveon Clowney (2016-18).

2021-22: (with Baltimore) 2022: Coached a D-line that helped Baltimore rank No. 3 in each scoring defense (18.5 ppg), run defense (92.1 ypg) and defensive red zone TD% (46.4), while finishing fourth on third down (34.9%)...Baltimore registered the NFL's fifth-most sacks (48, tied w/ NO), recording multiple QB takedowns in 13 consecutive games to close out the regular season. 2021: Weaver's D-line played an integral role in the Ravens' No. 1 rush defense (84.5 ypg) and No. 3 third-down defense (34.8%).

2016-20: (with Houston) 2020: Promoted to Texans defensive coordinator/defensive line. 2019: Houston won its second-straight AFC South division title. 2018: DE J.J. Watt and DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney had 16 and 9 sacks, respectively, both earning Pro Bowl nods. 2017:Defense produced 85 TFL, ranking as the second most in single-season franchise history. 2016:Texans produced the NFL's top-ranked defense (301.3 ypg) for the first time in franchise history...Houston also gave up the NFL's fewest first downs (17.0) and second-fewest passing yards per game (201.6)...Mentored Clowney, who earned his first Pro Bowl selection.

2014-15: (with Cleveland) 2015: Helped develop DE Desmond Bryant, who led the team with a career-high 6 sacks. 2014:D-line unit contributed to a defense that ranked No. 1 in opponent passer rating (74.1) and finished tied (with SF) for fourth in takeaways (29)...Hired by his former Ravens coach, Mike Pettine, the then-Browns head coach.

2013: (with Buffalo) Weaver's D-line accounted for 43 of the defense's franchise-record 57 sacks...Buffalo was the NFL's only team to have three players (Mario Williams – 13; Kyle Williams – 10.5; Jerry Hughes – 10) record double-digit sacks...Marcell Dareus, Mario Williams and Kyle Williams each earned Pro Bowl honors.

2012: (with New York Jets) Joined the NFL ranks as an assistant defensive line coach under head coach Rex Ryan, Weaver's former D-line coach in Baltimore.

2011: (with North Texas)Helped guide the LBs, including former Ravens player and current inside linebackers coach Zach Orr.

2010: (with Florida) Weaver entered the collegiate ranks under Urban Meyer as a graduate assistant for the Gators.

NFL Player: (2002-08) Drafted in the second round (52nd overall) by the Ravens in 2002, Weaver appeared in 103 career regular season games (98 starts) between Baltimore (2002-05) and Houston (2006-08)...He recorded 260 tackles, 15.5 sacks, 5 FFs, 5 FRs, 20 PD and 3 INTs during his career.

COLLEGE: Was a four-year starter at Notre Dame, where he earned All-America honors as a standout defensive end for the Fighting Irish...Voted Team MVP in 2001 and was one of four captains that senior season.

PERSONAL: Attended Saratoga Springs (NY) HS, where he played both football and basketball and received the National Football Foundation scholar-athlete award...In 2010, he was inducted into the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks Hall of Fame...He was also inducted into the Capital Region (NY)Hall of Fame (2011)...Anthony and his wife, Kristin, have two sons: Anthony Jr. and Justus.
